Designing with Impact: Building an Online Course for Teachers in Challenging Environments
The challenges

PLAN international and a consortium of other development organizations such as UNICEF and Save the children wanted
to create an emergency education program to improve teachers´capacities to self care and their abilities of teaching socio emotional skills to their students.

The key issue was how to align stakeholders from different organizations
while designing a course that must fulfiled sever expectations?
The solution

We created an interactive workshop and invited focal points
of the interested agencies.

We created different users´personas (teachers in different emergency situation),
we took them on a journey through the different milestones of the program.
User
We defined three different users. Three teachers each confronted with a different emergency situation.

We created basic activities, so participants could practice key concepts and check their understanding.

The results

Today, Superservicios has a self-administered induction course
that has allowed it to begin the induction of 300 people in the middle of the pandemic.

More than 90% of the participants in the course
stated that they have enjoyed the course.

More than 95% of the participantes said
that they acquired a better understanding of the Agency key aspects.
